Definitions:

  • Habitual moderation in the indulgence of the appetites or passions (virtuesforlife)
  • Moderation in action, thought, and feeling (MW)
  • Avoiding extremes of behavior, especially with relation to appetites (CAM)

Vices:

  • Deficit: intemperance, the inability to control one’s passions

Example:

Moderating the amount you eat and drink
Related Virtues: Fortitude, Cleanliness, Health, Order, Mastery
