Definition:

  • Respect that is given to someone who is admired (virtuesforlife)
  • The deferential recognition by word or sign of another’s worth (New Advent)
  • A showing of usually merited respect (MW)

Vices:

  • Excess: Flattery, a show of respect beyond what one is due
  • Deficiency: Rudeness, a lack of respect for what one is due

Example:

Showing politeness and respect to others.
Related Virtues: Considerate, Courtesy, Decency, Dignity, Nobility.
