Definition:

  • Resistance in the face of pressure from an immediate urge, desire or compulsion. (Medium)
  • Training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character (M-W)

Vices:

  • Excess: Overbearingness, Cruelty, unreasonable expectations
  • Deficiency: laxity, sloth, unreasonable lack of expectations

Example:

Choosing to eat healthy at lunch rather than a treat
