Definition:

  • mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty (M-W)
  • Strength of soul in the accomplishment of its purpose (New Advent)

Vices:

  • Excess: Rashness, looking out for danger or needlessly engaging with it
  • Deficiency: Cowardice, fleeing unreasonably from danger or being driven to inaction by it

 

Example:

Pushing yourself while exercising or taking on a difficult task
Related Virtues: Ambition, Capability, Confidence, Daring, Determination
