Definition

  • The strength to have a sympathetic and thoughtful regard for the needs of others (sportsleader.org)
  • Thoughtful of the rights and feelings of others (M-W)

Vices

  • Excess: self-neglect, putting the wants of others unreasonably before your needs
  • Deficit: Selfishness, putting your own wants unreasonably before the needs of others

Speaking kindly to others rather than being sarcastic
