  • The state of being noticeably happy and optimistic
  • Acting in an outwardly happy way for the sake of others, despite internal feelings

Excess: Being cheerful in unwarranted situations, part of social awareness

Deficit: Grumpiness, making life more difficult for other people

Example:

Being kind and energetic for other people even if you had a rough day
